Anybody know a quick fix for a solid state power supply that drops voltage from 13.8 to 12.5 when you talk on your rig. The drop causes my Kenwood ts-430 to go crazy. Ripple voltage should only be about .1 volt but this supply ( 20 amp) is useless on sideband. Anybody ever encounter this before ? |

What kind of supply is it? If it is an Astron , in most cases the two transistors on the rear need to be changed. They de-grade from RF after a time. In other power supplies the IC (adjustable regulator) may be bad and Radio Shack stocks them for about 2 bucks. |
