Sorry to hear about your radio troubles. I have had no trouble with my 959, and it plays well on AM and SSB. Guessing you got a bad one there, but wonder what exactly is the problem? Would you post the specific problems you had so that others might be able to offer some suggestions? The favorable reports on the 959 seem to outweigh the bad reports. Maybe there is a quality control issue. |

THE AM SIDE WAS FINED BY ME BY JUST GOING AROUND AND RESOLDING ANYTHING THAT LOOKED LIKE A COLD SOLDER JOINT. JUST GOT LUCKY? THE SSB I BOUGHT A $150.00 DESK MAGNIFINER GLASS WITH A LIGHT TO TRY TO FINE AN BROKEN CURCUIT OR ANYTHING,NO LUCK! SENT IT TO GALAXY REPAIR ,CAME BACK FIXED ON RECEIVE OF SSB BUT THE TRANSMIT IS SO FAR OFF FREQ. ABOUT ORTHERS SAY 16KC OR MORE? EVEN ON MY FREQ.COUNTER SAID I'M ON THE CENTER SLOT THEY CLAIM L-11 HAD A BAD SOLDER JOINT. MYBE BUT I RESOLDER THAT ONE WHEN I TROUBLE SHOT IT.THEY CLAIM THEY RETUNE IT COMPLETELY, BUT I HAD THE AM, POWER TURNED DOWN TO ONE HALF OF A WATT DEAD KEY AND IT CAME BACK THAT WAY.PROABLE THE TRUTH IS THEY FOUND THE SSB PROBLEM,IS (THEY FOUND IT BOXED IT,AND SHIPPED IT!AND DIDNT CHECK IT JUST KEYED IT.
