I've owned several of these radios and the things you described seem to be common in all. Does it seem to transmit o.k.? |

Freebird Try spraying the inside of the volume control with some contact cleaner. That just might cure the sudden "low volume" problem. If this works, but only for a day or two, then replace the volume control with another one of equal (ohms) value. I would also recomend the same be done with the mode switch but they are now made as sealed units. With age and a lot of use, the internal contacts wear. You could however try replacing the mode control with a new one. Jeff, kc0gxz. |
