what causes a radio to just die overnite? i used it one day just fine ,then the next day it showed all leds lit upon keying but had no tx. had 2 of them (tri stars) do that in 2003. had 3 GE's do it in different vehicles one year. is there anything I can do for this radio , or is it trash? thanks AJ |

Is it stock or peaked and tweaked, give every shredd of information you have on it,I've seen am regulators do that, various transistors in the t/r circuit, obvious causes, but more subtle ones are 10 volt caps shorting out because someone tweaked the main regulator, then 10 volt caps start poofing all over. |

bone stock to my knowledge. iam 2nd owner of both but have had both since 1996, and used one from 96 until last summer. the other one was in another truck in storage until last summer. |

i guess they are junk. when i hook it up to power supply voltage climbs into red on power supply meter.when i key up power drops back to about 13 volts when i whistle it climbs back up. neither radio has tx one has rx. but hey the p.a. works good on both. |
