First off are there any techs close to the Carlotte area that are good with this model radio?

Second, if I am in the channel mode and shut off the radio and turn it back on it goes back to the frequency mode. Then when I flip to channel mode its always on channel 9. Is this normal with this radio? Or is there a way for it to remember the last channel that I am not aware of.

Yes that is normal. Does not read last "channel" when turned on.Also always go back to channel 9
