Many people have asked me for this , here it is... Simple Channel modification for the following models: Galaxy DX-949, DX-959, DX-2547 Texas Ranger TR-396, TR-396F, TR-696, TR-696F, TR-696FSSB Base, TR-399WX, TR-699WX, 1.On the Main board, just to the right and below the PLL 8719 locate J33. 2.Locate wires in in J33 marked P6 and P5. Take note of their colors. 3.Cut open these two control lines and place a SPST switch in line with each of them. 4. This will manipulate the programming between the LSB (Least Significant BIT) and MSB (Most Significant BIT)to enable more channels. |

26.695 through 27.965. This radio is an exact Galaxy 949/959 series. Very limited. |

Does this mean that the radios will be able to go up and down approx.40 channels once modified? |

Is there a way to get more slide from the clarifiers with these radios? I have the Galaxy DX959 and married the clarifier to slide on both transmit and recieve.Currently I only get 1kc of slide and would like more comparable to radios I've owned in the past which would slide about 5kc up and down. |
