Jon666, If you got the radio from Copper, have you posted to the Customer Service Area or called Customer Service to report this problem? If it is a problem in the radio it should be covered Under Warranty as long as the Warranty SEAL has Not been Broken or Removed. If the Seal has been Broken or Removed for any reason then the Warranty is VOID. Hope this help's. Lon Tech808 |

yeah i had squeal when copper tuned mine too. sent it back to them came back with same squeal had it tuned buy another guy works great now Tech808 NOTE! This is a copy of the Note that I received from RF Ltd / Magnum Int'l concerning this problem. Date: 12/16/03 21:26:00 Subject: Fwd: Omegaforce question -----Original Message----- From: RF Ltd / Magnum Int'l Date: Tue, 16 Dec 2003 16:32:28 -0800 Subject: Omegaforce question Hi This is most interesting. I have checked with both of our national repair facilities and neither has received an OF with this complaint, nor have they had any calls. We have not received any comments or compaints on this issue. There is one thing that might be going on. I just received an EMAIL from a fellow in Scotland. He has just received an S-45. He has never owned a radio with AMT (all mode talkback) He advised me in his initial contact that the radio was feeding back through the mic. After I referred him to the owners manual for properly setting up the mic gain and advising him that the AMT has a full blown audio amplifier in the circuit and need only be slightly turned on(usually set at 8-9 oclock). He came back a few hours later and advised that was the problem and the radio works quite well. It would be interesting to have the phone number of somone having this problem so we can talk him through the process. Thanx __________________________________ RF Limited / Magnum International manufacturer of MotoComm I would also like to explain a few thing's. When Paul, the In House Tech at Copper does a Peak & Tune & Conversion on a radio, he does this to Specification's that "WILL NOT VOID THE WARRANTY" on the Radio. Paul, the Copper Tech has been with Copper from Day 1 and knows what he is doing and perform's all modification's per Factory or Tech307's Specification's. The Peak & Tune has NOTHING to do with the SQUEEL. I am sorry, but if your other guy told you that he is WRONG! As for the Squeal in the Omega Force S-45 as stated in the above note from RF Limited it states keep the AMT (ALL MODE TALKBACK) at 8 or 9 o clock position. AND It is also MOST IMPORTANT to Properly have your MIC Gain set Correctly, Improperly adjusted Mic Gain will cause FEEDBACK. "This is a direct quote from the Owner of RF Limited." A person can make any radio squeal with too much Mic Gain and Talk Back set too high, wether it is 100% Stock or Modified. Copper can only follow the guidlines set forth by the Manafacture's and by doing so your Factory Warranty is still INTACT! By taking your Radio to another guy, #1 He removed the FACTORY WARRANTY SEAL and succeded in VOIDING your Factory Warranty. #2 For him to add a resistor or other modification to the AMT, or Mic Gain to eliminate the Squeal, he had to alter or modify the AMT, Mic Gain or TOP GUN Circuit that Magnum Designed. Again this VOIDED your Warranty. This radio was designed for "TOP PERFORMANCE". Adding or removing anything to it or from it defeats the Design of the Radio. The TX area of this radio has been Increased several times over what you will find in any other radio and the NEW Top Gun board is also way more powerful than any other radio. I also Own and use the Omega Force, It has been on 24 / 7 since I got it and yes I did get a squeal by turning the AMT control up too HIGH. I Solved this problem by turning the AMT down to between 8 & 9 oclock and Adjusting the Mic Gain. This is one of the BEST Radio's to come along in quite awhile. Operated properly it will perform flawlessly. I have tested and checked this radio and have found NO Problem's also Paul, the In House Copper Tech also tested these Radio's 100% Stock and after being Peaked and Tuned and found NO Problems when properly adjusted. Also, I just spent about an Hour on the phone with the Owner of RF Limited and he also states they have hade no problem's with the radio's that were properly adjusted by the Owner's and that the Peak & Tune has Nothing to do with the squeal that could occur with an improperly adjusted Mic Gain or AMT He has also offered to call you or anyone with this problem and talk you thru the steps to prevent this problem from occuring. If you wish to send me your Phone Number, I will be glad to forward it to him. You can e-mail me your Phone Number to: Tech808@copperelectronics.com The owner was also nice enough to fax me the complete Alignment Specification's for this radio so that I could compare them to the work that Paul does and it is 100% within the Guidelines set forth by RF Limited / Magnum International. The Bottom Line is Copper's Peak & Tune is 100% Correct to Factory Specification's and does not cause any problem's in the AMT or TOP GUN area's of this radio. And with COPPER doing the work, Your Factory Warranty is still Intact and Good as Long as the Factory Warranty Seal has Not been Broken or Removed. Lon Tech808 |
