Ok guys heres whats happin I have a president madison and the stock hand mic works perfect but when I put a astatic silver eagle mic on it it will dead key and receive but no modulation. The mic is wired to fit it. What could be the trouble Im sure its not the radio because the stock hand mic works. This is one strange problem. |

Well check the wiring to make sure All wires are soldered good and no short's. Did you wire the Mic Yourself? And is it the MADIOSN with the 858 PLL Chip or the 8719 PLL Chip. And What Model D-104 do you have and What Stand as the wiring is different on different models. TUG9 stand, TUP9, and TUG8 stand. If your Stock Mic is working I would say it is in the wiring on the D104. Lon Tech808 |

not being smart, but is there a battery in the mic or is the battery that is in the mic good? sometimes we look so hard at things that we overlook the obvious. you may also want to check to make sure that the adjustment in the base of the amp has not been adjusted too low/off. oh yeah, and all the things 808 said. |

Well you have it wired correct for the 8719 PLL. If the Stock Hand Mic Works I would say you have a problem with the D104. Check & clean the contact's and make sure all of the wires inside the mic are connected. Also Check Battery and volume control. Not sure if there is a CB Shop near you but try and find someone with a Mic Tester and have it checked. Could just be dirty contact's or a bad pin in Mic Head or Stem. |

Ok same thing but the mic works on a grant. Now why wont it work on the madison and the stock mic will work fine. If there was something wrong with the radio the stock mic wouldnt work is what im thinking. |
