Just Wondering If Anyone Has Run One Of These Amps Mobile And How It Worked Out For Them ? I Plan To Set Up An 8 Pill In My Truck Soon. X Force X80 Will Be My Driver And I Have A Leece Neville 165A Alternator For Amps. Delta Force And DX55V For Radios Running Through A 5000 Wilson. Alot of people run them. The only problems I have seen when running them is interferance on cheap microphones. They will in effect bleed over the microphone. I heard that the Astatic Mobile Max doesn't do well with power either. Other than that sounds like what you have going will work great. |

i would not recomend using over a 150 watt driver for a sweet 16 |

why is it called a sweet 16 it has 8-2879 pills at 120 watts each = 960 watts wheres the 1600 comming from |

R.F.Parts tests their pills at 50to60% power and rate the 2sc2879 at 120 watts out with 7 watts in am/fm at 30MHz,typicaly 50% more on cw/ssb 120*8=960+50%=1440.check rf parts catalogue. |

i have ordered parts there and i have a peice of paper that says they are tested at 75% which is 100watts |

I have a 2000 catalogue,I know it's 2 yrs. old,but in the back it has listings at diff. freqs.,diff. input volts,shows P in watts,P out watts.Excuse me,power gain tests at 50to60%.But it still says;P in 7watts,P out 120watts,13.6 or 12.5 volts at 30 MHz.2SC2879 15 db gain. |
