city

As a rule the V quads and Quads both work well and the gain of a 4 elm quad is close to a 6 elm yagi ( beam )

Hey ctyslicker1
Personaly i like the Y Quad ....I have never had any problems with them...now the PDL-2 I have had 2 of them and the orbital gamma's have gotten broken by the wind on both of them...ended up selling them as parts....and yes they were stacked...both got broken on the same night...60 mph winds....then i got the Y Quads and stacked them and never had a problem with them...were still in great shape when i took them down...had a better SWR on the Y's than the PDL-2"s...thats my opinion. Have a nice day. :-)

As for gain and rejection there about the same, but as stated the hubs do get broken on the PDL's. I have made hub strengthing devices out of thick plastic that when installed they wont break again. But if you already have the elements I would make a y quad or a comet. I like the PDL better myself but like anything it preference.
My wife still has choice words about the time I put up a laser 500, how I said it was alittle bigger than my moonraker. Never live that down!

but honey,
its just 4 more elements hahahaha
i can hear it now.

crafter my wife is not a huge fan of the long boom either.

but she lets me do my thing as long as i dont fill the yard up with beams anymore.lol

a tactic i used to calm her down on me running my 6 element quad. i made 6 beams and had a few ground plans throughout the yard "she hated this see" so when i said i was going to take them apart and store them she then got more happy with the thought of only 1 or 2 beams and the collinear array. tactics my man! haha.

btw i like the 2elem quad over the 2elem quagi but its just for the gain. not a large differance anyway but id have to give the edge to the PDLII.
