I got a 29 LTD from a friend that was hooked up backwards and then several parts were removed to fix other radios.I have replaced all the parts and replaced the diode it blew from being hooked up backwards.at first all it would do is light up and nothing else.I replaced IC 4(ta7222ap)and it will now key up and has a 4 watt carrier and does mod.but it sounds real muffled and you can't hear anything from the speaker(talkback installed)it does'nt TX at all. When I checked voltage at TR23 it is way high.I have changed TR21 and D9 and it does'nt help.I don't have all the equipment needed, but I have been doing alot of reading and checking things against a 29 that I have and does work.does it sound like something I can do or should I take it to some one that has the right stuff to get it done? I would like to get it going but I would also like to do a little learning along the way. Mike CEF149 |

Without all of the equipment to test and go thru everything I would Suggest dropping Tech307 a note and see about sending it to him to look at / fix for you. He is Very Reasonable and Very Good! You can e-mail him at: Tech307@copperelectronics.com Lon Tech808 |

Thanks 808.I got it to TX and RX but I can't get the speaker to work.Tried one from a radio that works with no luck and an external speaker does not work.I had to replace most of the switches on the front of the radio and might have done something wrong,I'll check them out next. Mike CEF149 |
