Hello 307, I have a SS3900 (from Copper)that I would like to remove, disable or put an on/off switch on the roger beep. I don't like using one, and it annoys all of the folks I talk to. Thanks for any help. Mike (#108@KSC-SSB) |

There are several versions of the 3900 , However , If I remember right , there is a jumper in the front right corner (looking down on to the components) marked JP-19. If this is the right reference , cut it and the beep will go away. If it is the wrong reference , solder it back together and I will figure it out. It IS in that area. |

On the 3900 I have (recent purchase) it is actually marked simply J9, a single approx. half inch long jumper near the front right hand corner of the board. Clipped it so I could re-solder if necessary, removed the dreaded roger beep, so I'm happy. Again, thanks for the help. 73's Mike, 108 |

Bob, Disconnect the red wire. Cut the jumper in the middle, done. Put a switch inline between each side of the jumper you just cut to make it switchable. Steve Tech181 Tech181@copperelectronics.com |
