I can't seem to find the sorce for this problem i changed the balance modulator board as well as the audio tubes it has good carrier the ba board has also been replaced the receive is great except for a hum thru the speaker which i thought was the old 40 40 40 cap but wasn't still has the hum in the receive audio i tried other mics on it and still the same problem i havn't put a power mic on it at all the mics i use are non amplified d104s I also tried turning up the modulation from the inside and that didn't help either. anyone have any ideas Thanks |

do you have a manuel for this radio? if so go thru it sounds like the c624 cap(4x10uf,500v electrolytic cap)located on the chassis |

This sounds like an interstage cap problem to me. Check the smaller capacitors that allow audio to pass from stage to stage but block DC. One or more are probably showing leakage. Your radio 'Mythbuster' since 1998
