rosco,

Back the volume slide down on the mic. Move the mic away from the radio's speaker. Those mics pick up everything, they are VERY sensitive. I used to own one and couldn't figure out why the mod meter was moving slightly with no background noise in the room. The mic was picking up crickets churping outside an open window! If you want the talk back effect and still have the mod running hot, plug an earphone into the extension speaker jack.

Steve did as you said as to lower the slid volume, but still had no effect. Will try the earphone next. Is there any mod that would allow the use of the Sadelta. Have better modulation reports using the power mike. Talkback is not important feature to me. Thank You

thank you steve I did try what you suggestion as reference to turning the slide volume to lowest position, but still had the squeal using the Sadelta plus. Using the hand mike have no problem, Probley will just use the Selelta power mike, since the reports are excellent using it. The echo is not that important. I will also try the earphone later. Thanks Steve. Ps is there any easy magic mod which would allow me to use the echo feature, and or talk back.

Who wired the microphone? There are two configurations on the Sadelta Line , the older ones had 4 wires , the newer ones have 5 wires. If the Shield and the Audio Return are tied together it should be ok.
