hey 307 helppppppppppppppppppppp i have a texas ranger tr296gk and have been told that i am transmitting of frequency on sideband. can you give me some information on how to get it to transmit back on frequency? i have gone into the ranger comms website and downloaded to print the tune-up manual for it and have that on-hand. i have a small bk precision model 3001 hand held audio generator to use to tune it with. will that type of audio generator be sufficient or should i use my bk precision 2mhz function generator model 3011b? also, how should i wire the cable from either one of my generators to the actual 5-pin radio plug that the tr296gk uses? in other words,,, do i need to wire the radio side of the cable to the plug as if i were actually wiring a microphone in the transmit mode only or do i connect only 2-wires to the plug from the generator that goes into the mic-plug of the radio...also,,,do i adjust the amplitude control on the generator for the required 25mv, 1khz to microphone signal??? i have a really good digital multimeter on-hand to use to measure that 25mv signal too as wll as a pretty good frequency counter. if you could help with any of this it would be greatly appreciated. by the way,,,,i just bought that skylab t-233 antenna from copper and i am having great success with it and like it a great deal better than that radio shack version of the antron a-99 that i did have. many thanks.........whiskey romeo seven four arizona. |
