The green, back lit face lights just went out in my DX 93T.( all of them) Just bought this radio new in June of this year so its still under warranty. Is this some thing easy to fix or should I send it back to Galaxy? Is this a common problem with the 93T? The meter lights still work and the LED's still work. Other than the lights going out I've had no other problems. Thanks for the info Cactusjack |

Cactusjack, I can only answer for myself and as of this time my lights on the radio that is are on and in good shape, they are a good radio, I run mine like she is and each night I say good night to her and softly cover her up. |

KB,I love mine too. Always wanted a galaxy and finally got one.The 93t talks great and receives just as good. And the clarifier with the rx/tx switch is great for talking ssb. Not really sure when the lights went out though, think it was yesterday. Just found out today that the Galaxy service center is just 20 min. south of me in Del Mar, Calif. Might just drive it down there next week instead of shipping it UPS. Will call them first to make sure. I'm going to get my new coax (LMR 400) tomorrow and get rid of the rad shack coax. Going to try to get the new coax installed by sunday and see if my receive is any better on the CEF net. Glad to hear your radio is working great and hope to hear you this sunday. 73's and happy DXing CEF 124/cactusjack |

It's a known problem with Galaxy. They will be happy to have you send it in for warranty, you can call or email for a return authorization. |

Sorry Damyankee, I wasn't trying to put a hex on anyones radio. I sure hope KB's faceplate lights don't go out or your other radios lights. I e-mailed Galaxy yesterday and got a RAN number so I think I'll take it to them next week. The only problem is that they say it will take 4-6 weeks to get my radio back to me. So I guess I'll have to go dig the Comanche Warrior base out of storage and run it for a while. I really don't like the clarifier on it. It only has a course adjustment and if you turn it just a hair you shot past the perfect area. Really hard to tune people in perfectly. Oh well, I guess thats life. Well 73's to all and have a great weekend. See you on the net-Lyn |

Cactusjack. don"t you get upset about the 4 to 6 weeks, they tell all the same thing to get people to take it somewhere else, they state that in their message, I sent in my 2517 to them three months ago, it was back in 2 weeks, hang in there, and they do a great job, karate |

well considering that Galaxys repair facility is just a 20 min drive away I shouldn't have to worry about long shipping times (I hope). Sure will miss my radio though. I will use it on the net tomorrow. Probably take it to galaxy on monday or tuesday. Going to deliver it to them myself to speed up turn around time. Would like to thank everyone for there input on this matter. 73's and see you on the net. LYN |

Well I took my 93T in today so we'll see just how long it takes them to get it back to me. I hooked the Comanche Warrior back up today and this thing isn't half the radio that the 93t is. Funny how you never really notice just how bad a radio is until you use a good one for a while then have to switch back to the bad one. The receive on the Comanche is terrible, the clarifier is hard to adjust right on freq, the needle in the signal meter sticks to the right when I get a strong signal, the speaker sounds tinny and weak, and the meter lights are burned out. Not to mention the mic stinks, though the D104 works good on it. Any way, I can't wait to get the Galaxy back. OK OK sorry, I just had to vent off some steam. I'll keep you informed on how long it takes Galaxy to get my radio back. 73's and have a great week. Lyn |

Well the EL faceplate was the problem with mine. The tech (Mike) at Galaxy took the info, boxed up a new faceplate and sent it my way. I got it in less than a week, procrastinated for almost that long, and changed it out in less than an hour. The new faceplate comes with an adapter so you don't have to pull that tiny connector plug out of the meter board. All's bright again and saved both the time and freight charges. These are amazing little units. I'll keep my old one around just for the "gee-wiz" factor. 73's - Ron |
