The only "conversion" needed is to make it transmit on the 11-meter band. The factory wired it for "receive only" on the 27 MHz band. Unplug EVERYTHING, first. Remove the top cover. The band switch shaft emerges from behind the VFO shield cabinet into a switch wafer that has two green wires (and a few bare ones) on it. Unsolder the green wires from the switch. Twist the bare ends together and solder. Tape or preferably, insulate the end with plastic sleeving. Some folks prefer to leave them attached to the switch deck and solder a thin jumper wire across them. Either method works equally well. The radio will now transmit on both bands, rather than ONLY the 28.5 band as before. A scan of the original manual, and file with the stuff they left out are at http://sonic.ucdavis.edu/siltronix/ 73
