The top section of my i max 2000 broke in half is there a replacement top section for it?..thanks |

Freebird Yes there is a replacement but if you have an old 102 inch stainless steel whip laying around, just cut it to the same length as the top I-Max whip was and screw it on. Now you're back on the air with a stronger antenna. Lol. Lets see ya break that one!!! That's the first time I've ever heard of the top whip breaking on a I-Max. Jeff, kc0gxz. |

There was a bad production run of them where they drilled the threads too deep in the second section and it wiggles since its not a good fit. Solarcon should replace it if im not mistaken. |

i do happen to have an 102 stainless steel whip i got from radio shack last year.not sure if the connector on the bottom is the same but ill give it a try thanks.what if i dont cut the whip and just leave it 102 inches?will that mess up my swr's? |

no it wont, the section is 108'' just like the whip is. |

gee i wonder how i get in touch with them.you think ill get as good with the 102" steel whip on the top? Tech 833 notes: It's the same thing.

Put a mobile spring on it to and then you'll have a REAL conversation piece.But be careful,the sun glinting off the chrome might be a hazard to low flying aircraft. |

Freebird I forgot to mention that there will be less of a wind load on it also since the SS 102 is much thinner. Jeff, kc0gxz.
