This is something i've meant to ask before. After typing up an answer a while ago about the VR's on a 142 corba, I realized this guy had posted expecting a Tech to answer, and here comes an old dummy that as far as he knows might have never seen a Cobra 142. So the question is, Mr. Forummaster and you other Techs, had you rather us old normal dummies stay outta this section as far as answering questions. I can see where it might be easier for you to notice the original question without other's suggestions lengthing the threads. It would also save the poor poster from so many opinions, afterall, this is named, "Ask the Tech". Scrapiron Scrapiron. No, If anyone has the answer to someone's question or can offer help, please go ahead and post a reply. With the few Techs and Moderators we have, and all of us working full time jobs (some of us 2 jobs), sometimes it is very hard to find all of the post's and get to them in a timely mannor. And with 100 or more post's a day, it's a lot of reading. Sometime's it is impossibe to check the Forum daily or even every couple of days. I am lucky as I do have more time to check the Forum for Post's & Question's and approve them. Keep Posting wherever & whenever you can help. Remember, none of us know or claim to have the answer's to everything. This Copper Forum is a Learning experience for you the Forum Member's as well as the Tech's and Moderator's. Lon Tech808

Lon, thanks for clarifying that, didn't want to jump in where I didn't belong. From reading some of these posts from others, I've almost developed an inferiority complex anyway, since i'm just an old lowly CB'er. ;>) scrapiron |

Thanks 833, but the dumb factor is definitely debatable. I bet you've never seen as many "experts" in any field as in CB, well, maybe ham, ;>). I know we've taxed your's and other's patience at times, but you and some of the others on this forum have explained the "why" to things this old guy has observed over the years but couldn't explain. Trial and error can teach to a degree, but the learning can be expensive and long. Lots of us CB'ers have followed that route, thanks to this forum, better advise and cheaper teaching is available. Thanks for that. scrapiron |

Scrapiron63 I must add my thanks to you for a very clear statement. I totally agree with your words and thoughts. I have been practicing for over 50 years and still don't know anything. Some thing like " I'll teach you everything I know and you still won't know anything" 73's Iron Mask |

"Better to sit by quietly and be perceived as dumb than to open one's mouth and prove it" OR something along those lines...Thanks to all the Techs for explaining logic over superstition. Keep me learning! |

Well if all you guys are dumb, I sure appreciate having some of the smartest "dumb" people here . I have learned a lot from Both Scrap and Ironmask. I'm in that smart/dumb range....smart enough to know I don't know it all, but dumb enough to think I'm smart enough when I've got just enough information to be dangerous he he he IronMask and Karatebutcher will know what I mean when I say "Sea lawyer" ha ha. Gosh, I hope I'm at least better that that! Alsworld |
