Well, I'll be getting back my RM KLV-250 in a day or so. I was told by the tech that this amp cannot be driven over 1 Watt. My radio is a bone stock Cobra 142 GTL. So my question; How do I limit this radio to 1 Watt? |

As I recall the 142 has an internal variable resistor that can adjust the radio's carrier to 1w. |

Cobra 142 GTL Am Power adjustment= VR6 SSb power adjustment=VR7 Don't want to start a "don't cut limiter" argument, but to get more modulation you can cut R104, or remove TR 32. scrapiron |

Okay Tech671 if this is a screw type adjustment or some other simple adjustment a novice like myself can perform, or should I send this radio to you guys? |

VR6 is a flat slotted adjustment (usually chrome in those). Simple adjustment you can make if you have power meters. |

Nuts, my power meter is a cheap little thing that's part of my swr meter (para dynamics) and i just don't trust it. Does copper do mods of this kind to old base radios? |
