Hope you guys can help me out. Last Saturday night (8-16-03) My Radios, All of them Has a noise level at a steady S9 and over. Never had this, 20 years at this QTH. It sounds like 60 cycle hum. 10 meter to 160 all the same. Tried to talk on CEF NET Sunday, Real bad, Heard Lon in there. Yes i did shut every thing off to track it down, Including the cold air.Checked my radio in the car in the driveway under the transformer dead quite. Kinda got me stumped...Got any answers? I live out in the country no body around close, 1/4 mile. Help me out Guys 73's lowpowerhal |

I had the same problem Hal. I tracked it down to my computer monitor. I cant talk on the radio while the monitor is on. There is just too much noise. Not sure if this is your problem but it might be a start Buck |

Hal, IT IS something plugged into an electrical socket at your home. Process of elimenation, unplug things one by one. |

Hey Buck i just tried what you said you was having trouble with !! ( comp montor ) it cured my noise so how do ya fix that problem ???? Allagator CEF/115 |

My computer router puts a squeal on my home channel 17. Drives me nuts. |

Well you might try some ferrite cores on the cords on the monitor. That might help. I have my monitor set up with NO screen saver. It just turns off after 1 minute of idle. After it turns off I have no more noise. I dont get the noise on all the channels... Just a certian few but they range from 25.600-29.995 Buck |
