808 what is the output of a PALOMAR DX200B on low driven by a 2950 on low, an will i be able to run it through my AS100? |

Not sure of output on the Palomar DX200B as I have no information on it.
With the AS100 you do not want to run more than a 100W thru it.
Maybe someone who has a DX200B can help you on it.

hello tech808
i have a problem with my ts430 in that the recieve fades in & out all the time.is this serious or just a minor tickle.and is there any mods to increase the recieve sensitivity..

I know you were addressing Tech-808 but he's out plowing snow at the moment.
I'm curious to know if this happens in all bands and all modes. Also, does the receive come back when you rapidly key the radio a few times?
If this problem presents itself in all bands, then it is probably just the main transmitter-receiver switching relay. Its been a long time since I've been in one of these radios but if memory serves me correctly, there is a small relay on the transmitter board and another one on the receiver board. They work together.
Be careful when pulling any transparent plastic covers off the relays. They sometimes become brittle from age and heat. Once you have the cover off the offending relay, spray it with some contact cleaner and replace the cover.
Now, if you find that this happens only in one band, then it will be easy to find the correct relay by watching which relay makes contact when turning the VFO. The relays automatically switch into circuit for the band that the VFO is in.
This is not a serious problem. Actually it's more common than realized in the old Ham radios that used the relay band-switching method.
THE REAL PROBLEM IS IN "GETTING" TO THE BAND-RELAYS.
It WILL be time consuming and great care must be taken when dissasembling the amplifier section at the rear of the radio. Many "delicate" wires. Top and bottom covers first have to be removed just to get to the screws that hold the amplifier setion to the radio. Once the amp is removed, you will see all of the band-switching relays.
