My son (little brat!!) just bought a RCI-2950 (old style). What is the differance in the 2950 and the 2950dx? I have a survice manual for the 2950dx and was wondering if every thing is still the same and matches up? And what web site can I go to to get the manual for the 2950 (old style) if the dx one doesn't match up? As for him being a brat. He is because he bought the radio I was wanting but he was nice and bought me a new freq. counter. Thanks for the help. Shaun, Inklink466 |

hey inklink love the old 2950's and the old 2970's, old 2950's and new 2950dx's are a little diffrent as the new ones use surface mount technology and the older ones use old style transistors and stuff! the new ones are harder for freq. mods, requires a piggyback board installed the old style just needs a jumper moved! oh well enough rag chewin check out this link it will tell you everything u wanted to know and more!!http://www.rayrichradio.com/2950.htm 73's chris or the 155 in st. louis mo.

Chris, I found that site last night and got to studying the radio, pretty much every thing has been done to it except the channel 9 mod and it still has the rodger beep. They also put in a connex echo board. It is a good sounding radio. My kid said if I am not good he would ground me from it, guess I gotta be good. Thanks for the help 73's Shaun, Inklink, 466 Lonestar state |
