When I bought palomar 250, is it set up as 10 meter or is it 11 meter. can I use it in my vehicle with my cobra 148 and my voyage vr9000? If I have to get it converted how much is this and who can do such work. I bought it with cef one week ago, after recieving pamphlet in mail. Help ? |

Hi , The Palomar will do just fine on 11 meters. Those amps are very broadbanded. The difference between 10 and 11 meters is only a couple of Mhz. These amps go clear down into 40 meters and beyond if set up right. |

307, I hope it wasn't to dumb of a question, But I was told a modification needed to be done in order for me to run the palomar 250 on my voyage vr9000. Of course the person who told me wanted to sell me an amp, previous to me receiving the pamphlet from your company. I have reinstalled the 250, let see what happens I guess. Thanks for the answer. |

Rottenspaz just for your info: The use of amplifiers on Citizens Band radio is forbidden by FCC regulations in the USA and Canada, check your local regulations |

Just for your information as well , Who said you are using it? I was under the impression you wanted to know "IF" it would work..go ahead , I won't tell...BUT you sound honest , you aren't REALLY going use it are you? |

Dear copper Fan, although he may not have used the device which he asked about. I think that the FCC has bigger fish to catch and not some minnow. And most importantly I feel their regulations hinder anyones; 1) freedom and 2) freedom of speech. Think about it if everyone could use an amp to communicate where would the phone companies be, they are the ones controlling the air. Also speeding is against the law, are you innocent? |

I only use my amps for medical and scientific purposes....Until I get my upgrade to General class, when I will get the 12-band kit for my 2517 to open it out from 12 meters through 10. I monitor the 28.3-28.5 subband, and most people sound pretty clear, but my galaxy with a nice clean 100 watt amp behind it into a two-element quad ought to punch through a pile-up or two...hehehe.... "q-5, armchair copy, David!!!" Now if a person were outside the territorial waters of the US, with an 11-meter maritime mobile station set-up, would they be outside the jurisdiction (sp?) of the FCC? |

Actually, more than likely I might just get a yaesu ft-847...hopefully copper will start selling these by this time. 307, I was referring to a kit that is available to give the 2517 coverage from 24.265-29.655. It is my understanding that the 6900 board has accomodation for this built in, so the mod is not a modification of the board per se. |

I have a 2527 base and it's easy to get all you're channels.Behind the face plate there is a little black jumper that connects two prongs together. next to it is two more prongs that the jumper is made to fit on. carefully sqeeze these two prongs together and solder them and you'll have all the channels . brad. |

I just have to put my two cents in here. I run a Texas Star 350HDV in my truck, on 11 meters with a Galaxy 77. Sometimes I run it wide open, other times I don't. Sometimes I run a Galaxy 225 or a Palomar 225. Plan on buying a Texas Star 667, and I'll run it too. I don't pay the FCC any mind and anyone else planning to run a amp shouldn't pay them any mind either.... |
