On your review on the KLV 550, it was very well done and very educational, about the built in power supply, 3AMP can I hook my external frequency counter as a power source to it? and is there a time minute factor to run it, I have a Tripp lite PR3A that I got from Copper that you can only run for 5 minutes on 5 off at a time,is it to small to hook a mobil on the bench? Thank you very much |

Karatebutcher NO, you cannot run any large draw unit off the 550 power supply. What is the draw of the frequency counter? The draw determiines what can be used. |

Ironmask Thank you for answering my question, all I could find out was it requires 9-15 V DC 500ma, now my Tripp lite falls right in there, and works great but there is that 5 minute time factor, and I allow three minutes warm up, then I test the frequency counter to my radio, what do they use the power supply for, it is so small Thanks again for your time, |

It will work fine with the 550, no time limit. I use mine to power a Roadpro Titan II radio (single final, turned down to 1 watt DK). Works great. I know alot of guys that use it (the PS) to eliminate 2 or 3 "wall-warts" from their shack. |
