I'm becoming a AM radio collector of sorts. With the off and on rumors, of Uniden going out of business, and the demise of Cobra radios which are now produced as cheap replicas of the radios of old (So I'm told), and the proliferation of export radios taking over the cb market, I'm going to get my hands on as many vintage radios as my $$$ will permit. In the future I'm going to purchase the SSB uniden Grant XT or LT. But for now, I just acquired a used Midland Powermax AM cb radio, with the digital Rx/Tx L.E.D. readout, in excellent condition. Has any of the forum members here ever purchased or had a radio like this? If so, how did it compare to radios like the Cobras 25 and 29,& the Uniden series 76, and 78ltw radios? Were you happy with the Powermax? How good is the audio quality, reliabilty, etc? It appears that midland radios are kind of going "Out of Style" I.M.H.O. So, I'd appreciate any feedback about this product, pros and cons, from any or all forum members, techs and/or moderators. Thanks in advance.
