A friend of mine puts them in and he likes them. But they do work better on the single final radios like the cobras.

I wouldn't have anything against it as long as you drive it with a watt or less. Preferably less. You have to be VERRRRY careful with them. Too much power to it and you can kiss it good bye. If you drive it too hard, I don't suggest bonding with it too closely or you will be heart-broken when it dies. Adding a heatsink sure would extend the life of it.

Flash463 is right when he says that they work best with single final radios.

Well, here's my two cent....

The boomer board would be great, if it came with instructions worth a darn. The biggest problem I have had with them is the coax hook-ups. Copper may have these with better directions, but ***** sends theirs out with crappy directions. I have put one into a Galaxy 66. Low key 4 watts, high key 10 watts. With the board on, dead key is 40 watts low side, around 60 on the high side. Swings to around 90 watts or so, sometimes when it's warm a little over 100. If you put one into your radio and your hear the classic "you need to turn down that radio, it's too loud", ask them this: See that last knob on the left, turn it all the way to the left.

Drive your boomer with 4 watts. Drill your holes in the speaker cover to mount it. Use the SWR light on your 29 for power indication. You'll see the hook-up on the boomer board. And lastly, check the board out. All the part numbers or size is layed out already on the board. You can put a pre-amp on board just by soldering in the parts.
