I have a Connex 3300 that pops through the speaker when you key the mic. I've had the radio for a while and lived with the pop but Its really starting to annoy me- the pop is loud. How can I get rid of it ?

I'm curious to know if you are using it as a base radio with a Astatic D-104 mic.

Turn the talkback off.

If using a D104 handheld mic it will cause that pop too.

It pops with any kind of mic. Whoever owned it before me put a toggle switch so you can turn the talk back off and on once the echo is on. I've tried to reverse the hookup that is take it off and back to normal but they must have done something else to it because when I do that I have no talkback with the echo on. The talk back is extremely loud and I've tried changing the value of the resistor that was put in line with the switch but its either and off or on deal. Changing the resistor doesn't seem to work until you get to a point where the next value just shuts it off.
