I'm not sure how they tuned it but it should vary from 2-40w carrier and 20-120 peak. |

I just purchased a new 48T and it has been converted and tuned. I was wondering why it doesnt modulate at 100% modulation with the stock mic. It really doesnt make much difference if I run the mic gain all the way up or at about 3/4. I have ordered a new D104 power mic for it, and was just wondering if this mic will make a big difference on the radio. The radio right now dead keys 48watts and swings to about 80watts on my meter. What I want to achieve is alot of forward swing. If the mic wont do it what will. |

The meter reading is adjustable inside the radio. What meter are you using for power readings? |

Tech671, I have one more question about the talkback on the 48T. The talkback on my radio is actually pretty quiet when I have the talkback turned up all the way on am, but when I switch it into fm mode with the talkback all the way up it's really loud. I was wondering if that's the way its suppose to be. I was also wondering why the meter doesn't do anything when its in the fm mode, it doesnt show modulation or anything. Thanks again |

The power readings you get from the Synchron are "average" reading, and normal for the figures you gave. The FM side will not show modulation reading, but as I recall will show power reading when switched to power reading mode. I don't recommend exceeding 50w on FM nor AM carrier. Talkback usually increases when the transmitter has insufficient ground, meaning you probably were running way over 50w when in FM. |

Thanks for all your help tech 671. The meter does show power reading in fm mode, I guess I forgot to try that mode. If I have anymore problems or questions I'll know where to go. Now I know that my radio is working correctly. |
