WHAT WOULD CAUSE THE METER TO STAY PEGGED IN THE CORNER WHEN THE RADIO S/RF KNOB IS IN THAT POSITION? THE RADIO HAS THE V/POWER ON THE SWR CAL KNOB. IS THAT WRONG?

Are you saying someone modified the radio so that the RF Power is controlled via the SWR Calibration Pot AND are you saying the meter actually stays pegged even with power off? It sounds to me like the mod was done wrong...

THE RABIO HAS BEEN MODIFIED SO THAT THE V/POWER IS ON THE SWR/CAL KNOB.THE SWR WIRES HAVE BEEN DISCONETED.THE MEETER IS OLNY PEGGED WHEN RADIO IS ON & IN THE S/RF POSITION.
