Tech 671. On the forum, the thread "Questions, questions, questions, you said copper may still have access to the Cobra XL 450 amps. I checked out the CB Informer, and they stated that amp has 4 sd1446 pills, good for 350/400 watts peak. ChillDog, in the next post said he saw one with 4 sc 2879 pills. Is that true? If so, what would be the current draw, peak watts, and cost of such an amp with shipping, tax and handling? I know an "Old Timer" in my neighborhood intersested only if that amp comes with the 2879 quad. Thanks. |

Super Cobra is a whole 'nother animal. They're real attractive but that's where it stops, and availability would be nill since the builder retired from amp building. Cobra 450xl's will come with either 1446s or 454s. Years past it's predecessor (Magnum Elite 5500, 5300) came with 2879 transistors. Too much heat too little heat sink. |

Thanks, I'll relay that answer to the old timer. By the way, I asked you a question on the open forum. The coincidence is so mind boggling. Hopefully if you get the time you can respond to it. If not, then I understand. "Superman" also has a secret identity which he must protect (LOL). Take care. |
