My Palomar Elite will only put out 67-70 watts max. What is the most likely cause ? Also, where can I get a schematic ? Thanks, Spyder |

The radio is a RCI 2950 DX. I keep the radio output at about at about 2 watts. The meter is a Astatic 600. The antenna is a Wilson 5000 with SWR of less than 1.5 to 1. I have a Hooker 100 that measures slightly more than 100 watts on the same setup, so I really thing the problem is in the Palomar. Thanks, Spyder |

i had the same Palomar. I had about 5.5 watts driving it. I finnally got the power I wanted, about 175 am and 300 ssb. Try boosting your power on radio alittle, with a metter in line and watch the wattage |

Ok, try this. Adjust the 2950 so the Pal. keys 60w on high setting, then give an "auuudio", see what it does. Also on ssb set the radio so it does 20w ssb, then see what the amp does ssb on high. |

I tried AM,FM amd SSB with the same results. I have tried varying the power in. The modulation looks good on the Astatic meter, but it effects the power out very little. The max out put is 80 watts. This amp was used when I got it, and I'm thinking one of the pills may be bad.If anyone knows where I can get a schematic, please post it here. Thanks, Spyder |
