I bought a new Ranger RT939 WX and need an antenna. Radio is being tweaked, but will not be running an amp. I will mount on a Dodge Dakota which will be parked in the garage, as it gets 120 degrees here in Laughlin, NV. That places a length limitation on me of about 3ft as I will mount either on bedrail or with a fender-rail hood mount. I believe the load needs to be above the cab? If true, I know the Wilson Silverload fiberglass antenna is top loaded. Does any of this rambling make any sense? Any thoughts you wish to share would be appreciated as I don't know squat about any of this. Oh, by the way, in case it makes a difference, the radio gets weather channels. THANKS, MIKEB |

Theoretically , however antennas work different than what we think. I suggest the Wilson Silver Load on a trunk lip mount on the front of the truck IF you can't get away with a Wilson Mag Mount on the roof. The BEST antenna would be a 102" whip (fiberglass) off the rear bumper. Consider that.(using a strap mount) |

Thanks 307. What would you think of the 3ft Silverload mounted on the front bed rail in the center of the truck? Thanks, MikeB |

Need info on an adjustable match box to run cb on the am/fm antenna. The purpose is security and the wife not wanting to mess with it. Many years ago there was a unit made to run the am/fm on the cb antenna and visa versa but with poor performance it was no longer produced. It wasn't adjustable. Thanks, Iron Mask |

Question, I need some ideas for an antenna I can use in my attic. Can't put one outside at this time. My attic is 2 1/2 stories high wood sided house. I know it won't be ideal but for a little while this is the way I must go. I have a dipole wire antenna now have not tried it yet. I am just getting into cbing again after a long time away from it. Any help would really be great. thanks much ers |
