Fordtruckluvr-
Try the Syncron 2001 NLS meter that Copper sells. It's a really nice meter, $29.99, compact, SWR and wattmeter. I run one and I velco-ed it to the radio.

xlaxx, does this meter require any power to run it. i will be attaching to my 99. in back of the radio are the pos. & neg. post on the dash of my daycab kenworth that i could also wire to. i've also heard that there are some battery operated meters out there. is this true? thanks for all the help.

Ford-
I slapped that Syncron on the top of my rig with velco. No power needed to the meter. I was thinking about modding it to put a lamp/light inside so I can see it at night but haven't done it yet. You can check out the meters on Copper, they have a bunch. I like the Syncron because it's small, compact, easy to read, 5W-1KW ain't shabby, and it's pretty close to actual readings. Check out the "Preview" section under meters on this Forum.

The Syncron was fairly and reasonably priced and I didn't want to put something really $$$ in the truck.

Can't really comment on the battery operated ones as I have never owned any or know of any.
Good luck with your choices but I think you will be pleased with the Syncron,... I was.
