I have an HR2510 and it has no sound from the speaker. The speaker has been checked and the audio ic chip replaced and still no sound. The radio appears to be recieving, the meter lights up normally. Any ideas ????????????? |

I hate to ask the obvious, but I gotta... The accessory jack on the back-Do you have the accessory "plug" that goes in there? The internal speaker will not work unless the accessory plug is present (or someone modifies the radio so its not needed). If this is all good, then if you have a 'scope I can give you places to check...I have a 2510 service manual... |

Ok, yes the plug is in place, and no I do not have a scope. The radio has been sitting at our local repair shop for two months and I am sick of waiting! Anyway thanks for the reply, and if you happen to know of a good tech in Colorado, let me know. |

Anonymous, I have one with exactly the same condition, and, it will not "key-up". It has been offered to me as a "working" radio to trade for another piece of equipment I have. I've tried a number of things, but have no previous exp. with the 2510, and no technical data. I'm trying to get with a technician friend who has a lot of exp. with these radio types. If I can get him to set down with me and "walk" through the radio, I'll post another message with what we find. Good luck.... Mike 108 |
