Any Tech/or Tech 671- Sure would like to mount a light in this meter for mobile use. 1) How do I do it? 2) What do I need to get to do it? 3) Maybe install a switch or have it light up when I key down,... whatever is the most simple way. I'm not particular. Thanks XLAXX |

Xlaxx, You can use any small Wheat lamp to do this. Very small, and you can put them about anywhere. You can paint one side of them to prevent glare into your eyes so only half of light shines on meter. You will need power to it. Most come in 6 volt / 12 volt / 14 volt or 18 volt. Hope this helps. Wheat lamp as Lon said. I haven't opened the meter to see what exactly it would involve. If the sides and/or bottom are clear you may be able to put in either place with a little dab of hot glue on the wires to hold it in position. Run a +/- supply to it with a switch of sorts and small 2a fuse inline. If the sides or bottom are not clear you may have to risk removing the meter face or drilling a very small hole to slide the bulb inside. |

Thanks Lon 808 & 671- Can I get a Wheat lamp from Radio Shack and any other supplies needed for this project? Should I go with someone more reputable? Mouser? I haven't been to RS lately so I'm not sure if they have everything I'm going to need? Does the meter have a +/- power supply because it has a signal running through it? Didn't know if I could tap into the +/- within the meter itself to fire up the lamp? Thanks!... you guys are the best! XLAXX |
