My palomar amp on ssb will go click click, pause click click, on ssb using my 93 T Galaxy mobil, this happens only on ssb, and on AM it is quiet and both transmit good, radio is on low 3 watts, amp is on high, also tried the amp on low and med power, tried different mikes, swr are ok, different antenna, is the pep out to strong? |

Hey KB, mine will do that if my modulation is too weak (like a very weak mic I was playing with). A normal mic it won't once I get to Modulating. Does it do this when your are talking? or just when keying up? If it's just when you key up (without talking), I don't think there is a problem unless this is a new occurance on the same setup you have been running for awhile. Change any jumper lengths recently? Alsworld it started the other day on ssb only, talking and key down, but I still get out good on both am and ssb, good reports, I think the ssb pep may be to much for the amp , may just use the amp on AM and the radio only for ssb, I ordered a Astatic mike like yours, D104M6C from Copper |

karatebutcher, Tech671 is better at this than me, but I mainly hear of this type of problem on SSB, not AM. Just like what yours is doing. I don't know why it just started. Sorry brother but I think Buck is right, it's the relay chattering. But why? You are gonna love that mic just by the reports people give you. I have a great story doing some mic checks with 3 seperate mics last night barefoot when Texas rolled in (no brother though). That mic was the last I put back on as I was checking some other stock mics I had been fixing. The dude couldn't believe how good it sounded. Gotta run. Alsworld |

Thanks Buck and Alsworld, I am really begining to think it is the ssb relay preforming in a normal way as I am not fimilar with using an amp on ssb, plus the fact that I use a power mike and the 93T on low ssb is still hi a little for this amp, I will use the AM side of it only, thanks a lot, Buck shout for me sometime 27475 lsb unit 536, do you run any beef cattle up there, I have the breaking knifes. |

Yea my boss give the me all the beef my family can eat....Which is quite a bit...I eat beef atleast once a day most of the time twice a day. I love to grill almost as much as I like to talk on the radio. I just bought a new grill from wallyworld...It is gas or charcoal...I like to cook with charcoal but it takes alot of time to get "just right" but with this grill it uses the gas part to start the charcoal so I dont have to mess with lighter fluid. If I have the time I usually cook over an open wood fire...I use apple or cherry wood, its the best.. I will give you a holler tomorrow..I talked to 411 in Tacoma just a while ago and he was booming in here Buck |
