307 : Balasco asked about the Browning Ping sound on the open forum the other day.I asked around and an old friend brought me , what he says, was a Browning Ping sound kit that he had removed from a Golden Eagle D104 about ten years ago.If you are interested in building these I will ship it to you free of charge, just e-mail a shipping address.I have no idea how or if it works. There are only two pieces to it and he said thats all there is to it. |

Thanks for the offer. The Browning "KIT" was the same as the "Ping" today and consisted of a delay with a charged capacitor that drove an feedback oscillator for 1/2 second. The "Older" ones had the same idea however to get the ping they delayed the switch over from TX to RX (ran them together). This created "feedback" that was controlled by the volume level of the radio and a small feedback loop circuit which could be lengthened by adding capacitance. |
