Just one question... WHY????? It's built to squeeze every watt out of two small transistors that can be squeezed. The only improvement you'll get in power out of this model is to replace it with a four-transistor or larger amplifier. It's hard to make a hot rod go faster when you're already on the red line. 73 |

how do you switch a 225 to a 250?? they have the same pills but whats the differance between them other than the 225 is more expensive??? 73,s joe |

My guess is that the 225 is biased closer to class AB and the 250 is probably closer to class B or C. AB is more linear (truer, cleaner amplification) while B or C are more efficient, but not as clean or "linear". The extra power you see out of the class B and C leaning amps is usually distortion, spuriuous emmissions, and the like. 2600 has a good point and knows what he is talking about. Leave your amp alone! If you want more power, get a bigger amp. Don't ruin an amp that is working properly. UPGRADE! |
