is the galaxy 88 mod for the clari. married together so that trans. & recive work together & not apart work for the VR 9000 or not if not what will work & the drift prob. with the Vr 9000 is there a mod for that to stop the drift i see alot of messages about the drift im not sure about it cause my new VR 9000 isnt here for a few days yet just ordered it a few days ago am waiting on it to get here would like to stop any drift if possible thank you BBMFIC |

You don't need to do that mod on the VR-9000. As for drift..I never heard of it until now from you. I work on tons of them and they are all stable after the typical few minutes warm up. You will be happy with it. 307 |

I run the VR 9000 on base and the shack gets to 5 degrees F. at times. after normal warm-up about 15 min. at that temperature there is no drift and all other operations are great. No Drift on SSB. |

what about when the radio is first powered up, should there be a warm up time before transmiting? |

You can transmit right away , however most radios unless you have a crystal oven , will drift a certain way until they stabilize. You can always call Hamtronics and put in a crystal oven...It is a jacket that is warmed by a precision resistor that will keep the crystal at a constant temperature. 307 |

yeah but i returned my vr9000 because after i tuned it on, it would have to stay on for 20 minutes, it seemed like it was overheating after too |
