Bought a ONE FARAD CAPACITOR at work. What advantage will I recieve by using this. What I was hoping for is that this might make the alternator last a little longer and prevent some of the "surge" when I key the mike. gal 88, astatic mic, palomar 450 magnum 257, palomar 450 even thought that klm 351/p is a great amp, it can't compare to the Palomar 450. thanks oli |

Placeing the 1F cap on the power leads going into your amp will give you instant current for the amp when needed (if your lights dim when you normally TX, you are starving for current). Your battery and alt. can't provide "instantanious" current needed at the peaks of your amp's output. The cap can provide instantanious current when needed. Audiophiles use these caps for the demands of their sterio amps... rule of thumb: 100,000uF per 100W. |
