Most questions on talkback in galaxy radios that I have seen ask about disabling the talkback. How do you put the talkback in a Galaxy that doesn't have talkback such as the DX55V ?

Most Galaxy Radios have a diode that turns off the Audio to the speaker when in transmit. If you look at the component side of the main board directly in front of the audio transformer (within 1/2 inch towards the front) there will be one diode that is parallel to the transformer. Cut it and you now have talkback. The reference designator is different in many Galaxy rigs however it stands out and is not hard to see. Please let me know the results. Cut it in the center of the lead so if you do cut the wrong one you can tack it back together with solder.

OK great I'll try that & let you know if it works. I've also tried to add talkback to a uniden PC 66XL with no luck.

On your non export radios, run a 390 ohm resistor from receive pin at mic jack,to chassis ground. If it squeals on talkback, raise or lower the value of resistor to obtain non squealing talkback for your setup.
