Thinking of buying a 2980WX..I see no schematics on RCI web site..So my question is what radio is the similar too internally..I'm familiar with a RCI radio's but this one..I'm hoping that it's a smt board like the 6900 or 2950DX..

It uses the same board as the Galaxy 2517, Ranger 6300/6900 mobiles,and the Connex 4800 dxl w/echo, among others. It is not SMT like the 2950/70/85/95 DX radios. Standard components.
