Amp draw??? Why? They're base amps. They plug into the wall. |

Bullseye, I am not sure of the AMP Draw, but I do know people who use Both the 550 and 1000 with only 60 AMP Service to their homes and have had no problem. A lot of the older homes around here still have only the 60 AMP Service, The new codes call for at least 100 AMP Service. One suggestion I would make is to run a separate Line to your radio room / equipment so as to not overload any one circuit. And it makes it a lot easier to just shut off one breaker if you ever need to kill power to just your radio equipment. Just my thought's. Lon Tech808 |

Thanks 808 431 I need to know because my "shack" is exactly that. All my equipment is in an aluminum shed in the back yard. The people who previously owned the house just pulled power off of the irrigation pump so I'm kind of spooked to run to much till we can get the new shed wired and pull a new service off that to my shed. |

The 550 should draw 5-6a AC and the 1000 about 10-12a. |

Thanks 671. Seems like it's always something with CB but I guess that's half the fun of it. Next I need to figure why my radio desk keeps shrinking. |
