Sqwirl2001,

The diagram for the FC 390 Shows for the SS-3900:

BLACK wire goes to: GROUND
WHITE wire goes to: VCO O/P
BROWN wire goes to: GROUND
RED wire goes to:VCC = 8V
ORANGE wire goes to: USB B+
YELLOW wire goes to: LSB B+

Never hooked one up to a Grant XL but maybe the wiring diagram above will help.

The Grant XL layout is a little different, but they didn't print one for that.
