307, connex 3300 checked about every joint on the board. when soldering joints radio comes to life after a few minutes, works great as long as you don't unhook it. radio sits for say 3 or 4 hours unhooked no tx or rx. any ideals |

VOLTAGE REGULATOR MAYBE?? check out the bid black diode where the power wire connects to the board. maybe going and/or need resoldering. check your power cord especially where the connectors of the fuse holders meet. maybe pulled abit. heres a good place to start anyway......honkytonkman593 |

I would have to say it is a micro-crack..seen this a million times over...Freeze mist is the answer...Put it in the freezer for 20 minutes , take it out and see if it works , then use a hair dryer on it..Thats about the best you can do... 307 |

I have a question about my Connex 4800DXL. Maybe you can help me or know somebody who can.... I brought radio used. Was told that it was used as a base station. Probably hooked to a hot box. Audio is weak and so is the talk back. I don't use a hot box. Was told by repair shop, "Radio is peaked and tuned as high as it will go." Was running radio in 2004 Mack Truck. Tried radio in other vehicles still the same problem. Wired direct to battery, no help. I'm about ready to put radio under front tires and crush it! What could be wrong with this?? Forgot to mention have Connex 3300 walks all over 4800DXL

Pappy_1 You never mentioned what kind of Mic you are using but that is the first thing I would look into. This may be a simple matter of a Mic problem. At least it's a place to start. Jeff, kc0gxz. |
