The techs in my area of Florida are butchers. If someone can share the procedures to open up the AM modulation and convert the radio over for ALL the channels. If there is an adjustment inside for AM dead key, I'll need that too. I bought this radio from someone who never used it. I refuse to send this unused radio to EEI for a turbo tune/conversion and pay shipping plus whatever they charge for a tune up plus the 4 month turn around time. Any help at all would be much appreciated. Thanks Rich |

Thanks 181! Information so straight forward I'm almost tempted to do it myself. These Delta Force radios are so popular here in Florida, maybe Copper should consider selling them. |

Did the tune up today. I set the variable key to range between 1 and 7 watts. SSB is in the 28-30 watt range. Bird average the radio will swing to 15 watts and Bird43P peak it'll bump 34 watts. It still won't match the Connex 4800, but it's good enough for me. 2 drawbacks on this radio 1) It has a Frequency readout not counter 2) All digital controlled, a real pain in the ass to use sometimes. |
