anyone knows the max drive for drake l4b.someone told me it was 100w to drive it.others say 150-200w.i think its 100w.i'm driving with 40w dead key swinging 100w.i'm getting 400w dead key swinging over 1kw.meter only goes to 1kw.they say i'm crystal clear,clean audio.i'll like to run it to it's pinnacle.it's a great amp.still have the orginal tubes amperex 8802/3-500z from france.thank you for your help. |

I prefer to drive them with around 20-25w carrier, but 40 is max. Peak or ssb input should not exceed 300w, 150-200 is preferrable. |

so i can drive it with 150-200w , 300 max on am.or is this only for ssb.20-25w only gets about 150-200w out of l-4b on am.thanks for the help . |

The pep drive would be ssb or AM. I wouldn't want to run much over a 300w AM carrier, maybe 400 max. Usually 20w carrier in gives 300w carrier out, might be the tubes are a little soft. |
