I bought this radio off of ebay and it has a carrier problem. first off it has a carrier on ssb of about 7 watts. next on AM the carrier on ch 1 is 6 watts, ch20 4 watts, and on ch40 it is about 1.5 watts. I have talked to a few people and got good reports except for maybe being a little weak on ssb. I had attributed this to high (2.5 to 3) swr. I am waiting on a ball mount for my 102" whip to take care of the swrs but I think I have bigger problems than that. Has anyone ever had these problems or know where I can start to correct this?

Buck...sorry I overlooked the post.
Sounds like it may just need a good alignment. Drop 307 an email, he would be better equipped to handle that than I would.

Upon further observation this only seems to happen in my truck and not on my bench. I have a 2.5 amp rat shack power supply and the radio seems fine when powered by it but goes wacko in my truck...I think I will try running it strait to the battery and see what happens...Any other suggestions?
