Does the KLV Mobile Amps require mods for 11 meter band use? |

Some models require you to plug in a jumper that's not plugged in. Others will work on 11 meters right out of the box. Steve Tech181 Tech181@copperelectronics.com |

Some models (and I think the KLV351P is one of them) require that a jumper be plugged in inside the box. They will ALL work on 11 meters some just need this simple mod. Steve Tech181 Tech181@copperelectronics.com |

What do you need to know? The mods for the 351P says to push the short out plug on pins 1 and 2 of the 4 pin connector inside the box. The KL40 you need to locate the SO-239 receptacle that has a wire cut from it. Resolder the wire and it's ready to go. That's what I have anyway. I will scan and send these mods to anyone who emails me at skullman858@yahoo.com DEADMAN INC. |

Is anyone familiar with the voltage requirements for the KLV 200. I just ordered one and took it for granted that it would work on 110, but I saw one source that says it requires 220. It hasn't arrived yet and I would like to know ahead of time so I can get the proper voltage transformer if need be. Also, does this amp require the removal or addition of any jumpers, ect to be usable on 11 meters? Thanks |

I just received a new klv-250 with a warning on the box to "check to be sure unit does not need conversion before you hook it up". Does anyone know what the conversion? If so please let me know how to do it. Thanks, Conecuh |

Hey, I just found out about the klv 250 conversion. Just put a jumper across pins 1 & 2 of the four pin Jumper connector. Leave pins 3 & 4 open. Works great. Same procedure for the klv 550. Alsworld spent considerable time researchimg this problem and pointed me in the correct direction. Thanks Alsworld |

I know I'm not a tech ,but it gets to me sometimes I'll answer a post from a guy thats calling for a tech and there's no activity, then a tech gives or backsup answer and the questioner gushes allover,I guess I'm to thin skinned. If I had the time u-bet I'd be signin up for tech or moderator but I got to many responsibilities. |

Bigbob, One thing to remember is that the COPPER techs have not owned or worked on every piece or type of radio equipment out there. When a Question is posted I will answer it when I review it to be posted if I can. If it is in an area I am knowledgeable in. If not I hope one of the members can help or maybe another tech can read it and post answer. If we do not know the answer we will research it. All of us tech's donate our time so we check in whenever we can thru out the day. All of the posts you see posted have to be approved by either the FORUMMASTER or by one of us TECH's All post's are not sent at the same time so we cannot answer them all at the same time. As I stated above in my earlier post, If a Forum Member can be of help and answer a question, that is great. If not then it might take a little while but one of us Techs or the Forummaster will try and help. If it is posted in "ASK THE TECH SECTION" We try and get to it as soon as possible. I try and catch up on most every post at night but with almost 30.000 posts to this forum it does take quite awhile to read them all. One thing to remember is we have NEW MEMBERS to the Forum joining every day. Some have been in Radios for a long time and some are NEW to Radios and the Forum. Whenever the members cannot offer help, then we the TECH's will try and help in any way we can. Just My Thought's! Lon tech808 |

You misunderstand me I was just whining about the fact that because I am not a tech when I offer info to a poster I seldom if ever get a response, unless of course I say something he takes as an insult, then I get instant results. My wife says I'm just being a crybaby,o-well.Oh by the way you techs and moderators are doing a great job!!!! |
